Dance

I started dancing ballet and still love the elegance of ballerinas but my preferred style has evolved into contemporary. At university, I studied Limon and Cunningham, and worked with artists from StopGap Dance Company and Luke Brown.

I was a member of the pre-professional dance company D@Win, where I collaborated with the neuro-diverse theatre company Blue Apple Theatre, allowing me to realise how much I enjoy community dance too

Dis-Abled, JUMP! Dance Reading 2020

I made this piece of work specifically for the showcase Dance Reading hosted in November of 2020, I was, and still am, trying to figure out my relationship to my disability, in no means is the work done but I enjoyed making this work and I hope to explore more soon.

Music by Ólafur Arnalds

This was from an early rehearsal from my third year at university for the End of Year Show, we were exploring how viewpoints can change depending where the spectator was viewing us and coupling this idea with sustainability. Choreography by Christopher Matthews, Music by Philip Glass

This was from my second year at university in Jazz class and Christopher Matthews would make multiple phrases in one semester for us to learn. This was early on in getting to know this phrase and I'm proud of how I was able to keep up despite my disability. Chris' style is Jazz-Contemporary derived from ballet.

Music by Beyoncé

This was from a class with choreographer Luke Brown from Luke Brown Dance Company and we were learning some of his repertoire, I had previously worked with him in my first year's End of Year Show and it was exciting to return to it in my third year.

Luke's style is all about emotionally charging every part of the body and communicating that emotion fluidly.

While at university, my friend Emma Rowlands and I decided to get together and choreograph something for fun. We collaborated to make a jazz duet together to a song from the film Burlesque.
